Frequently Asked Questions

Question:

What happens if I'm accepted?

Answer:

If you're shortlisted after the intake the next stage is that we will invite you to our photographic studio for a professional test shoot, we kindly ask for a booking down payment to prevent the loss of time as we cover the cost of the creative team for new recruits.

The shoot will let us see what type of work you'll be best suited, and how you interact with a team of people you do not know which in turn gives you a greater understanding of how photoshoots and other projects will work.

Whether you have experience or not this is a process all new recruits will have to go through prior to joining. Once this process is complete, all genuine candidates will be offered the opportunity to join our membership programme starting from £299 which will include your profile on our website - updated throughout your time with us. We cover expenses, personal photographers and videographers for skill development, social media marketing and promo, a personal representative/talent manager and we also supply the talent with all the images from the initial test shoot.

You are in full control and can cancel your membership at any time, however any payment made prior will not be refunded.

We have a very strict cancellation policy for our initiation process, whereby if you decide to cancel, the down-payment will not be refunded. We ask all client's who seek to join DTM to read through this information before making an informed decision.

Question:

What work could I do?

Answer:

The industry is generally split into different sections; i. Photographic work - magazines, catalogues, in-store materials, billboards, press adverts, etc. ii. Television work - commercials, film, TV programmes and music videos.

Question:

How much can a DTM talent expect to earn on a job?

Answer:

This will vary. Some of our talent have earned £100ph for a 6 hour project but some have worked for free, however a list of prices for different types of industry standard projects can be found below;

For photographic fees all clients vary, but as an approximation anything from £25 -£200 per hour or £300-£900 per day.  For Television work fees are approximately £100 - £400 per day. However on a TV commercial if you are used in the final cut they normally give an additional payout, which is called a buyout. For fashion work the rate can vary between £100-£5,000+. Music Videos can vary from £50 to £1,000+ and Fashion shows can pay up to £900+

Question:

What do DTM take from this?

Answer:

On day rate fees we issue 85% of the total to the talent and DTM would keep 15% this is including rescheduled projects and admin. For buyouts, exclusion fees or any other, the fees will vary and will be stated on your contract, however DTM can take up to 50% for a buyout or exclusion fee.

Question:

When do you get paid from a job?

  Answer:

The talent will normally be paid within 30-120 days of when they do the job as this would be the given time for the client to pay DTM. If paid in advance it would usually take place 3-5 working days after project.

Question:

Do I need a professional portfolio once modelling or acting?

  Answer:

It's very important to have a diverse looking portfolio or diverse showreel. Bare in mind this will depend on what type of personality, model or character you're trying to portray. We have online portfolios for all our talent. These include any work they do, both photographic and video, and are constantly monitored to keep them as up to date as possible.

Question:

How do I utilise my membership?

  Answer:

Our talent have constant communication with their talent manager or advisor via mobile, office phone or e-mail. Depending on your membership will determine what services you can utilise, however, if you need or want a photographer for an idea, you communicate this through your manager and their job is to make it happen. This goes for any service included in the designated membership.

Question:

How often can I use my membership services?

  Answer:

This is entirely down to you. You can use our photographers, videographers and creative team everyday if you wanted, as long as your manager clearly identifies the benefits of the project they will authorise and organise it for you. Same with your online promo, if you have independently worked on a project you can send the final edits over to our social media team for promo & marketing. Our team will post immediately for the intent of gaining interest and exposure.
